Yin Yoga & Nidra Meditation
A new offering at Studio 26 Yoga & Wellness. A combination of the Yin stretching class and Yoga Nidra meditation. This class releases tension while reducing anxiety and stress. A fantastic balance of Hatha and Raja Yoga. In this one hour class, students will move through a series of gentle stretching Yin Yoga movements and prepare the body for a 15-20 minute practice of Yoga Nidra.
In the Yin Yoga portion of the class you will be guided to hold each pose for between 2-5 minutes. The focus of the practice is placed upon lengthening the connective tissues, overall relaxation and a desire to improve flexibility and balance. Yin generally targets the connective tissues of the hips, pelvis, and lower spine.
Yoga Nidra literally means yogic sleep. It is an ancient practice where one moves into a deep state of conscious relaxation. Utilizing a systematic method of guided meditation techniques, the practitioner movies their awareness from the external world to their inner world. We are brought into a state of deep rest; where our senses, intellect, and mind relax.
